After a few years using Wordpress, I've decided to redesign the site using a CMS (Content Management System).

Wordpress served me well however I have a few ideas for community websites I would like to start up that are just too big for Wordpress.

Enter Joomla!

Joomla is a CMS based off of Mambo. Actually, Mambo has been abandoned and the core developers decided to improve on it and came up with Joomla. I've been looking at several CMS's for my future community site and although there are a few that may work better, I'm very excited about the next version of Joomla, 1.5 which is a complete recode from the ground up. It will stand on it's own merit and is not based off of Mambo code which was limiting in it's scope.

I decided to get a head start and put Joomla on the site in order to familiarize myself with it. I have Mambo experience through my CompuMedic site so it's a simple matter of working off the rust and exploring the new options.

Enjoy the site. I will certainly be adding many more things to it with the goal of making it much more interactive for visitors. Have fun!
